# How do I buy a capacity boost?

> Start, schedule, extend, or cancel a 24-hour outbound boost.

Open the cluster, choose **Boost**, pick a target plan, and start it now or schedule it. The boost raises the cluster's outbound limits for 24 hours and is charged once to your card.

Capacity boosts are not turned on for every account. If the cluster page has no **Boost** option, boosts are not available on your account.

## Before you start

- You are a Team Administrator.
- The cluster is on Micro, Small, or Medium.
- Your team has a payment method on file.
- The cluster has no other boost that is scheduled or active.

## Start or schedule a boost

1. Open the cluster and choose **Boost**.
2. Under **Boost to**, pick a target plan from the table below.
3. Under **Start**, choose **Now**, or choose **Schedule** and set a start time between five minutes and 30 days from now.
4. Click **Review boost**, check the one-time charge, then click **Purchase boost**.

| From | To | Price for 24 hours |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Micro | Small | $2 |
| Small | Medium | $2 |
| Small | Large | $9 |
| Medium | Large | $7 |

You can also buy a boost from the amber cap banner when a cluster hits its hourly limit. The banner shows **Boost** when a boost is available for that cluster.

## Extend an active boost

Choose **Extend 24 hours** on the cluster page. The extension costs the same as the original boost.

## Cancel a scheduled boost

Choose **Cancel scheduled boost** before the start time. We refund the charge. You cannot cancel a boost after it starts.

## Plan changes during a boost

You cannot change the cluster's plan while a boost is scheduled or active. Wait until the boost ends, or cancel it if it has not started.
