How do I avoid MX conflicts?

Point inbound.your-domain at PostShiba. Leave the root MX alone.

Receiving uses MX on inbound.{domain}, not on the root. Keep the root MX on Google, Microsoft, or whoever already owns the mailbox. Do not point the sending domain's MX at PostShiba.

What to publish

Host Record
example.com Leave the existing MX alone.
inbound.example.com MX to the PostShiba inbound host shown on the inbox.
mail.example.com No PostShiba MX. This is a sending domain.

A domain-bound inbox address looks like agent@inbound.example.com. Hosted inboxes skip MX and land on our inbound zone.

MX on the sending domain steals mailbox mail. PostShiba never needs that record.
